Port of Rio Haina
Rio Haina handles a broad mix of freight through terminals on both banks of the river. The eastern and western waterfronts accommodate containers, general cargo, vehicles and bulk commodities, giving the port several distinct roles in import and export distribution.
Shore facilities include warehouses, vehicle storage areas and installations associated with grain, oils, cement and chemicals. Different cargoes therefore follow different paths through the port: some move in containers, others require bulk storage, and vehicles pass through dedicated holding areas before collection.
The two-bank layout is a defining feature of the harbour. Its commercial activity is spread across terminal and storage sites around the river entrance, linking marine cargo handling with the warehouses and distribution operations that prepare goods for onward movement inland.
