Port of Belize City
Belize City’s commercial port handles containerised imports and exports through a pier and shore terminal south of the city centre. Its position inside the coastal reef system makes the marked maritime approaches an important part of the port’s physical setting.
Cargo services include container storage, handling of full containers and unpacking of shared consignments for separate customers. Refrigerated cargo and warehousing form part of the operation, linking overseas deliveries with collection and distribution ashore. Interisland cargo delivery adds a further connection within the coastal transport network.
The terminal’s role extends beyond moving boxes across the quay. Storage, sorting and release of goods organise the next stage of each shipment, allowing imported products and outward cargo to pass between marine transport and the businesses using the port.
