Port of Dutch Harbor
Dutch Harbor is a working maritime centre closely tied to the fisheries of the Bering Sea and North Pacific. Around Unalaska, fishing vessels share a wider port system with cargo ships, government vessels and passenger traffic serving the Aleutian Islands.
The Unalaska Marine Center provides cargo berths, container-handling cranes, warehouse space and storage areas ashore. Other municipal facilities include the Carl E. Moses Boat Harbor, Robert Storrs Small Boat Harbor and separate docks for lighter cargo and vessel support.
Together, these facilities connect the fishing fleet with shore-based services and the community’s supply chain. The combination of small-vessel harbours and commercial cargo frontage reflects the port’s dual importance to fishing operations and the movement of goods into a remote island settlement.
