Port of Muscat

Port Sultan Qaboos gives Muscat a maritime tourism gateway at Muttrah. Cruise arrivals are a prominent part of its business, with a passenger terminal and berthing facilities serving visitors arriving by sea.

The port also retains a multipurpose role. Cargo-handling equipment and marine facilities support activity alongside the passenger business, so its present function is broader than that of a dedicated cruise quay. Asyad Ports manages the site as part of its wider port network.

Its position on the Sea of Oman places it near established shipping routes, while the city waterfront provides the setting for passenger arrivals. Tourism and commercial port services therefore coexist within a harbour whose identity is closely connected with Muscat.
