Port of Khor Fakkan
Khor Fakkan’s container terminal lies on the Gulf of Oman, outside the Strait of Hormuz. This position allows ships to call on the eastern coast without entering the strait, supporting a role in both regional cargo distribution and onward sea connections.
The waterfront has container handling equipment and storage yards, with provision for refrigerated cargo. Containers can be transferred between shipping services or collected for inland delivery, giving the terminal a combination of transhipment and gateway functions.
Road connections extend that gateway role to customers beyond the immediate coastal city. The port therefore links ocean services with two onward routes: another vessel for destinations around the region, or land transport to warehouses and other consignees inland. Its activity centres on this exchange between maritime and landside cargo movements.
