Port of Sorrento
Sorrento’s Marina Piccola is a passenger and leisure harbour beneath the town centre. Set in a small cove, it provides a maritime starting point for journeys around the Gulf of Naples and the neighbouring island and coastal destinations.
A pier, quay and outer breakwater enclose the harbour’s working and mooring areas. Pleasure craft use the sheltered marina, where shore water and electricity support stays alongside. Ferry and hydrofoil activity gives the waterfront a different rhythm, with travellers moving between the quays and the town above.
The harbour’s role is closely tied to the visitor economy of the Sorrento peninsula. Its position near the centre connects sea arrivals with accommodation and local services, while leisure boating brings demand for moorings and assistance. These passenger and small-craft functions define the port’s character within its limited waterfront space.
