Santorini Port

Santorini’s old port provides the landing point for cruise passengers visiting Fira from ships anchored in the caldera. Small tender boats carry passengers between the ships and the waterfront beneath the town, making the sheltered bay part of the island’s visitor transport system.

A cable car links the landing area with Fira on the cliff above. Excursion boats also use the waterfront for trips around the caldera and to its volcanic islands, bringing together cruise transfers and local sightseeing departures in a compact coastal setting.

This is a different arrival point from Athinios, where the island’s main ferry facilities are located. For visitors arriving by cruise tender, the journey ashore therefore continues uphill to Fira rather than through the main ferry port.
