Port of Moin
Moin’s port district supports Caribbean trade through an established harbour and a separate modern container terminal. The older harbour developed around banana exports and oil imports, with cargo facilities on the eastern side of Moin Bay.
Container operations elsewhere in the bay have broadened its role in agricultural trade. Refrigerated shipments carry products such as bananas and pineapples to overseas markets, alongside other exports including coffee and root crops. This traffic makes the handling of perishable produce a significant part of the district’s commercial activity.
The older port facilities and the APM container terminal occupy distinct sites. Together they explain the range of shipping associated with Moin: energy and multipurpose cargo use one part of the waterfront, while specialised container operations serve a different part of the bay.
