Sealand Maersk was a regional container shipping brand linked to the global A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, one of the world’s most influential shipping and logistics companies. Originally rooted in SeaLand, a pioneering liner founded by containerisation innovator Malcolm McLean in the 1950s, the business became part of Maersk’s network in 1999 when Maersk acquired Sea-Land’s international container operations.

Over subsequent decades, Maersk adopted and revived the Sealand name to serve intra-regional trades — especially across the Americas — and later expanded its reach into Europe, the Mediterranean and Asia as part of its controlled asset network. As of the early 2020s, Maersk announced plans to unify regional brands, including Sealand, under the integrated Maersk identity to simplify its service offering and provide consistent access across long-haul and short-haul supply chains. As part of this transition, operations and digital services previously available at SealandMaersk.com were migrated to the main Maersk platform, where customers can book, track and manage shipments as part of the broader Maersk ecosystem.
