Namsung Shipping Co., Ltd., headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, is one of the country’s first and most enduring private ocean-going carriers. Founded in 1953, it began by supporting Korea’s post-war export drive and has over the decades evolved into a prominent regional liner operator. Namsung operates services to more than 60 ports across Korea, Japan, China and Southeast Asia, and provides inter-modal logistics coverage inland as well as on the sea leg.

Today, Namsung specialises in intra-Asia container liner services with strong connectivity between Korea, Japan and China, and a growing network into Southeast Asia. The company maintains a fleet of owned and chartered container vessels, backed by around 500 skilled logistics professionals and an advanced IT platform, enabling efficient port-to-port operations as well as value-added logistics services such as inland transport and customs clearing.

In recent years Namsung has made sustainability and digitalisation core strategic pillars. Its ESG programme emphasises full-chain carbon-emission accounting, replacement of older ships with more eco-friendly tonnage, and participation in renewable-energy and recycling projects alongside shipping operations. On the digital side, the company is developing cloud-based systems (such as “NS-ICON+”) which incorporate IoT, smart‐ship applications and automation to adapt to the increasingly complex global supply chain.
