Grays Harbor: specialised terminals with rail connections
Grays Harbor’s marine terminals handle bulk commodities, liquids and general cargo on the Pacific coast. The port’s different facilities combine vessel berths with storage and rail access, providing routes between inland producers and overseas markets.
Terminal 1 serves liquid bulk cargo, while Terminal 2 handles agricultural commodities through enclosed conveyors linking receiving and storage areas with ships. Terminal 4 accommodates general, roll-on/roll-off and project cargo, with warehouses and paved yards supporting loads that need different forms of storage.
Connections to the BNSF and Union Pacific networks extend the port’s reach beyond the immediate coastal region. The commercial terminals are separate from the port authority’s Westport Marina business, which serves fishing and smaller vessels nearer the harbour entrance.
