Fourchon Port

Port Fourchon is organised around the needs of offshore energy operations. Supply vessels connect its waterfront bases with installations at sea, while service companies use the port to support the movement of equipment, materials and personnel. Its commercial role is closely tied to offshore production.

The harbour’s developed slips and service facilities provide space for companies supporting this activity. Vessel movements form part of a wider logistics chain that includes deliveries by road and the preparation of supplies ashore before they are sent offshore.

Fourchon is also the land base for the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port, known as LOOP. The offshore oil terminal is a separate facility, so its tanker operations should be distinguished from the service harbour itself. This relationship adds another energy function to Fourchon’s established support role.
