Port of Tilbury

Tilbury serves London’s consumer and industrial markets through a mix of container, trailer and bulk cargo facilities on the Thames. Its established trades include grain, forest products, construction materials, vehicles and recycled materials, alongside machinery and other large individual loads.

London Container Terminal handles boxed freight, while Tilbury2 provides facilities for unaccompanied trailers carried on roll-on/roll-off ships. The Construction Materials and Aggregates Terminal supports the supply of building materials, giving the port a direct connection with construction activity across the capital and the South East.

Warehousing allows cargo to be held and prepared for onward distribution within the port estate. Road access towards the M25, on-site railheads and barge connections into central London provide several routes from the quay to customers. Tilbury’s passenger terminal also accommodates cruise departures and visiting ships.
