Thamesport Port

London Thamesport is a cargo terminal on the Isle of Grain beside the Medway estuary. Its activity includes short-sea container shipping and general cargo, with freight connections serving London and the wider south of England.

The terminal’s cargo mix includes construction materials as well as containers. Rail and barge connections complement road transport, providing different ways to move goods between the waterfront and their onward destinations. This makes the port useful for consignments whose inland journey can combine more than one mode.

Thamesport’s role is shaped by this combination of coastal shipping and distribution links. Its Medway location places cargo handling within the wider Thames estuary economy, while the terminal itself occupies a distinct site on the Isle of Grain.
