Port of Cristobal
Cristobal occupies the Atlantic end of the Panama Canal, where container and general cargo facilities meet the shipping routes of the Caribbean. Its position in Limon Bay links port operations with the wider transport and trading economy around Colon.
An on-dock railway connection gives containers an overland route across the isthmus, while road access connects the port with the Colon Free Zone. Container storage areas and refrigerated connections support cargo between discharge, collection and onward shipment.
This combination of sea, rail and road access makes Cristobal more than a stopping point at the canal entrance. The port supports the transfer and distribution of goods through a coastal logistics district whose commercial links extend across both the isthmus and the surrounding maritime region.
