Port of Quebec

Quebec’s port combines bulk cargo handling with a cruise waterfront on the St Lawrence River. Its facilities are spread across distinct sectors, allowing industrial freight and passenger activity to occupy different parts of the city’s river frontage.

Beauport accommodates dry and liquid bulk cargo, with road and rail connections to inland transport networks. Grain handling forms part of the activity in the Estuaire and Anse au Foulon sectors, alongside other cargo operations serving producers and industrial customers.

Cruise ships use facilities at Pointe-à-Carcy, close to the historic city. This division between industrial terminals and the central passenger waterfront gives the port two complementary roles: transferring commodities between river shipping and inland markets, and bringing maritime visitors directly into the urban area.
