Reel Shipping was a maritime carrier that operated container liner services connecting Asia with key ports in Russia and other destinations. The company launched operations aimed at serving trade flows between Chinese and Middle Eastern ports and Russian gateways, such as St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Vladivostok, often using mid-sized feeder vessels tailored to these niche corridors. Its services attracted attention in the early 2020s as demand for alternative logistics links grew outside traditional east-west routes.

Reel Shipping first began serving Russia-related trades in 2022, partnering with local agents to establish scheduled sailings that enabled exporters and importers to bypass more conventional transshipment patterns. Routes included sailings from Damietta (Egypt) and Casablanca (Morocco) to Russian Baltic ports, as well as direct links between China/South Korea and Vladivostok, reflecting shifts in regional freight dynamics at the time.

However, in August 2024, Reel Shipping’s Russia-oriented operations were formally transferred to Vuxx Shipping, its former Chinese agent and partner. This transition meant that the routes and containers once moved under the Reel name continued under Vuxx’s banner — a reflection of how smaller carriers often evolve through operational handovers and strategic partnerships in response to changing market conditions.
