Founded in 1968 by Dr. Yung-Fa Chang, Evergreen Marine Corporation (EMC) — commonly known as Evergreen — is a Taiwanese global container shipping powerhouse headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan. Historically, the fleet has included container vessels, bulk carriers, oil tankers, reefers, and specialized ships across its diversified Chinese and international operations. Today Evergreen operates a modern and highly efficient fleet of over 200 full-container vessels, spanning five continents. According to Alphaliner’s ranking as of March 2025, Evergreen holds the 7th position globally with a capacity of approximately 1.79 million TEU across around 225 ships.
