Port of Chancay
Chancay’s multipurpose terminal handles containers, dry bulk and vehicles on the Pacific coast north of Lima. It adds an ocean trade gateway to a bay with an older fishing-port history, connecting inland producers and importers with overseas shipping.
Commercial operations were licensed in June 2025 following a trial phase that began in November 2024. Recorded cargo movements include maize, vehicles and containerised goods, with agricultural products such as avocados among the exports passing through the port.
The terminal serves trade with Pacific coastal markets and Asia, while its varied cargo mix reaches beyond a single industry. Bulk shipments supply agricultural and industrial users, vehicle arrivals support distribution inland, and containers provide the link for manufactured goods and export produce.
