Port of Savona

Savona combines a commercial cargo port with a passenger waterfront beside the old town. Cruise ships berth close to the historic centre, while other parts of the enclosed harbour accommodate freight operations and smaller leisure craft.

The commercial quays handle a varied mix of dry bulk, general cargo, containers and roll-on, roll-off traffic. This allows the port to receive both unpackaged materials and individual freight units, with different quay areas serving different handling requirements.

The Palacrociere terminal gives passenger shipping a prominent place in the harbour’s activity. Together with the cargo berths, it connects the city to maritime trade and tourism. Savona forms part of a wider port authority network, but its urban harbour has its own layout and operating character.
