Tombak: LPG exports linked to South Pars processing
Tombak is an industrial export and service port associated with the South Pars gas development. Its maritime role centres on moving products from the gas processing complex to ships, with liquefied petroleum gas, or LPG, a documented part of its export activity.
Pars Oil and Gas Company reported the first LPG loading at the port in 2021. That milestone established a seaborne outlet for products from the Pars 2 refineries. The company also described pipeline connections being developed to bring LPG from additional South Pars processing phases to the waterfront.
The port’s development includes specialised piping and mechanical installations for handling these industrial cargoes. LPG exports should be distinguished from the separate Iran LNG project: references to that project do not establish an operating liquefied natural gas export terminal at Tombak.
