Port of Rafina
Rafina is a ferry gateway from the Athens area to the Cyclades. Connections with Andros, Tinos and Mykonos make passenger travel central to the port’s role, serving island residents as well as visitors travelling from the mainland.
Vehicle-carrying ferries allow cars to make the crossing alongside their passengers. The waterfront therefore handles both foot passengers and road traffic, with boarding activity focused around ferry berths. Its mainland location also makes the port a meeting point between the road journey from Athens or the airport and the sea passage to the islands.
The harbour sits beside the town’s seafront, where passengers can spend time before departure. Rafina’s importance lies in these island connections: it supports everyday mobility and tourism through a port organised primarily around ferry travel.
