Port of Split
Split’s northern cargo harbour serves industrial and commercial traffic in the Vranjic–Solin basin. This working waterfront is separate from the central passenger harbour, where ferries and cruise vessels are more visible to visitors arriving in the city.
Cargo operations cover loose bulk materials such as salt, petroleum coke and scrap metal, alongside steel products, stone blocks and containers. The port also handles vehicles and machinery carried aboard roll-on/roll-off vessels, as well as large individual loads such as yachts and wind turbine components.
Open storage areas, warehouses and cold storage support this varied cargo mix. Connections with both rail wagons and lorries allow goods to move between the quays and inland users, giving the northern harbour a distribution role beyond the passenger waterfront.
