Port of Zhongshan

Zhongshan’s established port area supports container freight associated with the city’s manufacturing businesses. Its river facilities connect exporters with wider shipping networks, including cargo movements through Hong Kong.

Lighting products, metal goods and electromechanical parts are among the manufactured cargoes recorded moving through the port. Loading areas and container handling link these businesses with waterborne transport, giving the waterfront a role in the movement of goods produced across the surrounding industrial area.

Passenger services now have a separate location. The new passenger port at Cuiheng opened in November 2024, away from the older Zhongshan port district. Distinguishing these sites matters: ferry routes from the new terminal do not describe the activity or facilities at the established cargo waterfront.
