OVP Shipping is a relatively young liner company, founded in 2020 in Hong Kong (with operations centered around China and broader Eurasian-Asia trade lanes). From early on, the company focused on linking Chinese ports with destinations across Russia, the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea, the Middle East and North Africa — aligning with major East-West trade corridors.

OVP operates a growing fleet and, as of recent reports, controls multiple vessels with a combined capacity of about 20,560 TEU. In 2025, the company made a strategic decision to strengthen its core trade lanes by placing an order for new 4,350 TEU containerships — aimed at boosting capacity on routes to the Red Sea, Turkey, North Africa and other key trade zones. In 2023 OVP Shipping launched a new direct container service from China to the Baltic Sea (Russia), using vessels like Stonewell Glory and Allseas Pioneer, underlining its ambitions to create competitive alternatives to traditional shipping-line networks.

In recent years the container fleet managed by the group has surpassed 200,000 TEU, and its inventory of rail fitting platforms exceeded 15,000 units— milestones achieved as part of a strategy to modernise and expand its intermodal capability. FESCO has opened a new office in Dalian, China (2025) to strengthen direct container and rail links between northeast China and Russia, reflecting its shift toward greater regional connectivity and logistics sovereignty.

The company’s route network spans from major East Asian ports to Russian Black Sea and Baltic ports, and extends into Middle Eastern and North-African connections. According to one tracking service, OVP Shipping is often described as “primarily focused on the Russian market,” emphasising its role in facilitating container transport between China and Russia — particularly through Black Sea and Baltic Sea routes.
