Chornomorsk: grain and container infrastructure across two harbour basins
Chornomorsk is a commercial seaport south of Odesa, with cargo facilities arranged around two harbour basins. Its infrastructure includes grain and vegetable oil terminals, container facilities and areas developed for ferry traffic, alongside berths for other bulk and general cargoes.
The port’s combination of storage, handling areas and marine access has made it an important link between agricultural production and Black Sea shipping. Grain exports are a central part of that role, although the waterfront was developed to accommodate a wider range of freight.
Military actions have disrupted cargo movements and damaged port infrastructure. The presence of specialised terminals therefore does not imply that every cargo service or ferry connection is currently available; operations and restoration work remain affected by the security situation.
