Port of Rades

Radès is the container and trailer cargo gateway for the Tunis metropolitan area. Developed on the southern side of the Tunis navigation canal, it complements nearby La Goulette with facilities focused on freight moving between ships and inland transport. Roll-on/roll-off traffic, particularly trailers, is a defining part of its business.

The harbour basin connects to the sea through the La Goulette approaches. Alongside its quays are container storage areas, warehouses and customs facilities, allowing imported and exported goods to be assembled, checked and transferred between transport modes.

Road access links the port with Tunis and the industrial districts of Mégrine and Ben Arous, while rail connections provide another route inland. This position places Radès close to both a major consumer market and the factories generating much of its cargo.
