Port of Mundra

Mundra serves northern and northwestern industrial markets through a combination of container, bulk and liquid cargo facilities. Its waterfront is divided into separate operating areas, including the West Basin and terminals around Navinal, rather than a single multipurpose quay.

Container terminals connect with inland rail services, including trains carrying containers in two layers. Other facilities handle coal, fertilisers, agricultural products, steel and oversized industrial equipment. Covered warehouses and open storage areas accommodate the different handling needs of these cargoes before onward dispatch.

Energy imports form another part of the port’s business. Offshore moorings receive crude oil for transfer through pipelines, while liquid cargo berths connect with tank storage. Together, these facilities link ocean transport with inland factories, distribution centres and refineries.
