Port of Luanda
Luanda’s harbour serves the capital’s supply chains and a wider industrial economy from a bay sheltered by Ilha de Luanda. Its working waterfront contains several separate terminals, allowing different cargo businesses to operate within the same natural harbour.
Container and multipurpose facilities handle packaged goods, general cargo and other freight, supported by storage areas and road distribution. A distinct logistics base operated by SONILS serves the petroleum industry, adding offshore support activity to the port’s broader cargo role.
This division of functions is important to Luanda’s maritime character. Goods destined for the city and inland customers pass through commercial terminals, while specialised facilities support industrial operations at sea. The harbour brings those different transport needs together along an extensive urban waterfront.
